Their "Cousin" Fox

My nephew and niece are obsessed about Fox, our semi-newly adopted dog.

See, back home (in the Philippines), we have pets at home but we do not treat them as family as much as people do here in the US. They are our protectors, the common nickname for dogs there is "Bantay," which means "Guard." Dogs there are trained to bark whenever someone they do not know knocks. This is the first time ever that I have to take care of a toy dog. A tiny, tiny dog.

So when the kids learned that we adopted a dog and saw pictures of him, one of the things they started to love doing is Facetime with me Fox. I would follow Fox around the house or just point my phone at him while I make him do his tricks. I've also been sending my sister videos of the pooch so they have something to look at when they get home from school.

How I wish it was super easy for us to see each other so they can play with Fox and I can train them to be Fox's walkers ;)

Love Triangle

We were in the car when...

Reese:     Mom why in a love story, there's always this other one who cries? (she was using her fingers, two were together and the other finger was far away)
Mom:      What do you mean?  Where did you see that?
Reese:     On TV and in movies.  When two people are in love, somebody, another person cries.
Mom:      Oh, sometimes people, they become sad......

It's so hard to explain. OMG.
I hope you never get to experience that my princess.

Double meaning

So last night when Joshua's dad was getting ready for work...

Josh:     Dad can you leave?
Ria(the mother):  Josh that's not a nice thing to say... Why do you want daddy to leave?
Josh:     No, I mean can you take a leave from office? A day off?

Haha! Sorry Josh...

Let's get physical!

After my hubby's epiphany that he needs to lose some weight and become fit and healthy (This was due to the continuous and daily, more like every meal time, 'observations' by the kids regarding his physique), we have been exercising daily for more than a month now. He has lost some kilos and an inch all over.

So earlier over dinner,

Joshua: Dad! you're getting low fat na ah!

haha! nice observation ;P

Honesty is the best policy

After having lunch, me and my hubby were planning our menu for the next couple of weeks. Since last month, we have been trying to stay fit and healthy ( read: we've been exercising our butts off --uhh literally?, everyday). We were also dieting. Reese was still eating her food at the table and we were talking about a certain dish when..

Hubby: Let's cook that on our cheat day..
Reese: Cheat?!?! Don't cheat ha? that's bad!

LOL!

Fast forward please!

While we were having breakfast..

Daddy: Oh it's Monday today..
Reese: Yey! It's almost Friday! ( with matching hands up in the air )

Haha! Go girl! What better way to start the week than having super positive thinking :D

How Do Magnets Work

So after my sister explained how magnets work to Joshua, he goes, "Like girlfriend and boyfriend." When you think of it, he actually makes sense ;)
Right?

Instant greeting cards (by Ria the hot momma LOL!)

A few months ago, I downloaded the Nick jr. Draw & Play App for iPhone.  One time before going to bed, I saw Joshua busy doodling and this was what he was doing.

Instant Greeting cards!

Since my birthday was coming up when he did this..

Every kid's favorite holiday

for daddy

and for mommy again

Never mind the wild scribbling, it's always the thought that counts :D

Cereal for Breakfast and Dinner

Since Ria and John (the brother in law) started their healthy lifestyle last week, they've been eating cereal for breakfast and dinner. One night, Ria made pancit canton for dinner and while eating...

Josh: Mom, diba dapat you're eating Fitnesse (their cereal brand)?
Ria: Oh, I forgot. (Yep, she was that hungry!)

This is what happens when Ria is too hungry to wait for Josh to set the table. Joshua always gives her mom a bowl so she remembers to eat cereal instead of their real dinner. Yep, he's already at the stage where he's kind of raising his mom. LOL

Josh and Reese

Josh and Reese are my sister's little kids. I'm starting a blog about them to document the things that my sister sends to me through texts and emails - unfortunately, they live 10,000 miles away from me, my other sister and my mom. Thank God for iMessage, Yahoo Messenger, Skype and every existing technology that help us get in touch with her. My sister, Ria is a busy momma so instead of forcing her and pushing her to post about her everyday conversations with the kids, I decided to expose them my way. LOL In fact, I just texted her that I want to make a blog about her kids, now here I am typing this.

So who ever you are, their other godmother (winks at my other sister), their tito/tita, their grandaunt/granduncle or their Mamita (hi mom!), I hope you enjoy this blog. :)
